The Little Things

"I first learned about Texas Royals during tabling at Freshman Orientation. The girls who were tabling were so nice and welcoming, and it was so easy to have a conversation with them. When I learned that Royals’ philanthropy was the Darrell K Royal Research Fund for Alzheimer’s Disease, I knew that this was the spirit group for me. My grandmother passed away from Alzheimer’s when I was 16, and ever since then, I knew that I wanted to be more involved in finding a cure. After being in Royals for a year, I wanted to take the next step into a leadership role on the executive board. Volunteering and service have always been a huge part of my life, and I wanted to take that passion into the Philanthropy Chair position. Royals have given me the opportunity to not only be more involved in the fight against Alzheimer’s, but it's also given me lasting friendships and sisterhood. Starting college is a huge and intimidating step for a lot of students, and joining Texas Royals made the transition easier and less scary! Texas Royals has helped make my college experience at UT fun and fulfilling. "
