"I chose to come to UT because I love Austin and the diversity of people, voices, and culture on UT’s campus. I think that Austin is so unique within Texas as a progressive city with so much growth, music, and people that there is seriously always something different to do. The opportunities UT offers to all of its students are unreal and simply not available at other state universities. I never knew I could have such strong school pride until I stepped onto UT’s campus and I wouldn’t change my college decision for the world – HOOK'EM!!!
Moreover, I decided to join Royals because I wanted to find a group of girls that I could have fun with and not be scared to be myself around. I had so much fun attending recruitment events during my recruitment period, in fact, the girls I met during these events are now some of my closest friends. I realized everyone in the organization was so different that there was truly a place for everyone. When I was looking for a group on campus to join, I really wanted to find a diverse group with girls contributing different characteristics, and Royals showed me just that.
In fact, one of my favorite parts of Royals is our philanthropy and the opportunity to really engage in the community alongside my friends. I joined our Philanthropy Committee this semester so that I could bring my passion for service to our group to help us better serve the community. I am so excited to work alongside girls who get as excited as me about community service and all the differences we can make!
My favorite events with Royals have been all the activities of formal and semi-formal weekends! The date nights are always so fun with everyone dancing for hours into the night. Getting to dress up for brunch the next day -- and stuffing ourselves with French toast-- while enjoying the view of Lake Travis next to all my closest friends seriously can’t be beat. And then at the end of the weekend, getting together with everyone before and during formal really makes it an unforgettable weekend. Formal weekend is the time to come together and reminisce on all the memories we’ve made in the past semester and get to make a weekend full of new memories in the process!"
