What we stand for
Our Four Pillars
As a spirit group, one of our main purposes is to form life-long bonds with our sisters. We have activities like sisterhood scavenger hunts, study dates, sports events, movie nights, dinners and Austin outings! Our goal is to create a community of women who uplift each other and who you can rely on, this is why we have a program in place that allows all of the new members to get a chance to meet our actives!
Part of the college experience is meeting new people and creating new friendships. Texas Royals offers opportunities to meet new people through mixers with fraternities and other spirit groups. It is important to our organization that we engage with other organizations so that we can spread the Royals spirit!
Texas Royals was named for the legendary coach Darrell K Royal, Texas royalty in name, legacy and spirit. As such, we are committed to spreading school spirit across campus by attending sporting events, concerts, dance shows and showing support for other groups on campus as well. We host a Rose Ceremony before every home game, our girls get together at DKR’s statute and place roses in his hand to start off the game right.
As members of The University of Texas and Austin communities, we have an obligation to give back. We work closely with the Darrell K Royal Research Fund for Alzheimer's Disease to help find a cure. We also participate in UT Project, Texas THON, and other events to better the UT campus and to help improve the Austin area.
