Hey y’all. My name is Hannah, and I am the New Member Educator for Fall 2018. This means I plan out the entire Jewel semester; from the moment you find out you are invited into this amazing sisterhood, to the first time you become “Royal.”
I started off my journey in this org by knowing a few active members, and that was really helpful to me. More than anything though, the best part of recruitment was meeting my best friend, Tessa. We met at the Sisterhood round, and she added me on Facebook. In all honesty, I didn’t want to add her back in case one of us got through and the other didn’t, but I am so thankful that I accepted her friend request. She has been my best friend since Fall 2016, and now she has moved away to go to Law School at Texas Tech. She embodies what it means to be a Texas Royal; hardworking, genuine, and fierce. I wouldn’t have met her if I didn’t step out of my comfort zone and apply to Royals. It's crazy to think that my entire college career has been shaped around a group of women that meet every other Thursday-- but hey, that’s life. This is why I am encouraging you to apply to Royals; you will find your best friend, the person that you immediately FaceTime when you have to tell them something that is empirically more important than whatever they are doing currently, someone who is always down to brunch at Kerby or go hiking, or tag you in a Zilker Bark photo. Apply to Royals, and you will find someone, or some people, to have a 700 day Snapchat streak with. I can’t wait to meet you!
